- Always use shampoos formulated for your hair type ― dry, normal, oily or chemically treated.
- Egg shampoo is good for dry hair but avoid products which contain alcohol as they will dry out the hair even further.
- Before shampooing, brush hair and scalp to free any knots and to loosen dirt and dead skin Cells.
- Use lukewarm water instead of hot water to help in removing any oily residues.
- Wet your hair then work a small amount of shampoo throughout the hair, gently massaging your scalp with the pads of your fingers.
- Apply the shampoo to the hair by first pouring it into your hand and never directly.
- Apply with the hands and fingers, massage firmly in rotating and circular movements.
- Pay attention to areas where makeup and dirt easily get trapped like the hairline.
- Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Repeat the process if necessary.
- Blot the hair with a clean towel to remove excess water before conditioning your hair.
- Gently dry the hair with the towel.
- Avoid blow drying as far as possible.
- Shampooing can be done as often (ideally every alternate day) as required to keep the hair clean and healthy, as long as you condition regularly.
- If you shampoo regularly there is no need to lather twice.
